Case XX USA 8 Dot 1972 6254 SSP Trapper RARE Large tang Stamp Red Bone MINT. CASE XX STAINLESS USA with 8 dots, indicating 1972 production. Pattern # 6254 SSP stainless Trapper at 4-1/8 closed. Old time CASE quality with nickel silver liners and pinned oval CASE shield. This knife has the rare large tang stamp. This stamp is only found on a few 6254 SSP trapper made from 1970 to 1972. All the dots are not visible but based on the position of the visible dots, I believe that it is an 8 dot 1972 stamp. A MINT knife, never sharpened, carried, or cleaned. Original factory finish and edges. The blades have strong snap, no wobble. Nice red bone handles. Handles are perfect with no cracks. This knife includes an old-style CASE factory gift box. Case offered these gift boxes to dealers as an extra cost option. This style box was offered from the early 1960s through the early 1980s. Also included is an original Case wrapper with PROPER CARE OF YOUR CASE POCKET KNIFE instructions. Case discontinued the use of these printed wrappers in the early 1980s. An amazing MINT survivor amazing since this knife was made over 46 years ago! MY STOCK NUMBER E553. The knife shown in the photos is the exact knife that you will receive. Tang stamp is a vertical BUCK/USA only BUT IT’S ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE of the blade. Most of the knives with Tang stamp on the opposite side were made in 1967 with an integrated frame. This is one of the very RARE 1968 models. Knife is in excellent condition and the sheath is near new condition. I like to refer to knives like these as carried but seldom, if ever, used. Knife has been well cared for and looks mint. Sheath shows little to no wear. This knife belongs in a BUCK model 110 collection. Brass frame, spring spacer and all pins are brass. Handle pins are small in diameter. Handles are wood and the blade is 440C stainless steel. Sheath is black leather. Knife is tight with good snap. Great knife, hard to find (especially in this condition) a real collector. Please look at the pictures and ask any questions you may have. I’ll do my best to answer as quickly as I can.
