Offered is a 35 inch all original, near mint, 1997 Scotty Cameron Teryllium Newport TEI3 with original black leather Titleist headcover and COA. This is the first year that Scotty Cameron used Teryllium inserts. Outside of the few minor pitting areas (lower face and topline – see pictures), this putter is immaculate! Head mill marks are clear and crisp, black oxide finish is bright, Teryllium insert is bright, and all paint fill complete & bright. This putter has not been used other than to putt inside. Shaft is clear of any blemishes and has all shaft labels intact (Care label, component made in USA label, Scotty Cameron label). Grip is original Titleist pebble grain. Putter comes with original black leather Titleist’American Flag’ Scotty Cameron headcover and COA A-013782. Tried to capture everything with the pictures. The Newport model draws its inspiration from the Classic 1, one of the first putters produced by Cameron Golf International in late 92 and made famous in the 93 Masters win. The Newport has a plumbing neck for 1/4 toe hang. The Newport’s radiused topline and softened edges create a more natural, soft look and the use of a Teryllium inlay produces a distinctly soft sound and feel. Teryllium, an alloy of 12 metals backed by an elastomer membrane, produces the softest feel in the Cameron line. Evidence of the new alloys exceptional performance characteristics can be found in the TeI3 Newports role in winning the 1997 Masters.
