Case XX USA 8 Dot 1972 6254 SSP Trapper RARE Large tang Stamp Red Bone MINT. CASE XX STAINLESS USA with 8 dots, indicating 1972 production. Pattern # 6254 SSP stainless Trapper at 4-1/8 closed. Old time CASE quality with nickel silver liners and pinned oval CASE shield. This knife has the rare large tang stamp. This stamp is only found on a few 6254 SSP trapper made from 1970 to 1972. All the dots are not visible but based on the position of the visible dots, I believe that it is an 8 dot 1972 stamp. A MINT knife, never sharpened, carried, or cleaned. Original factory finish and edges. The blades have strong snap, no wobble. Nice red bone handles. Handles are perfect with no cracks. This knife includes an old-style CASE factory gift box. Case offered these gift boxes to dealers as an extra cost option. This style box was offered from the early 1960s through the early 1980s. Also included is an original Case wrapper with PROPER CARE OF YOUR CASE POCKET KNIFE instructions. Case discontinued the use of these printed wrappers in the early 1980s.
